My contact with music is as old as me. From the very childhood I used to sleep in a room in which I could hear my grandmother and aunts playing the piano in the next room in the evening.

When I was 12 (1967-68) I used to go to the event named Meetings with a Song to which anyone was allowed to go if they had the Evening Daily with them, containing the printed text of a popular song. It was possible to go to the scene and sing a song, being accompanied by a band or a pianist (I have never been courageous enough to try). Those meetings were led by Mr. Jasiński, the later President of the Jazz Association in Bydgoszcz.

At that time, my grandmother (the music teacher) taught me my first notes and scales from the old German book. When I was 15, I bought my first guitar with the money I earned during holiday, and one year later I received my first diploma and distinction in the competition for the song about my city, organised by the club at the Municipal Communication Works in Bydgoszcz (near the Basilica). I represented the club at FAMOR factory and I played my first compositions there. Those were the years in which I established my first music groups, among others in the club at the Canned Food Production Factory, at school at Konarskiego Street in Bydgoszcz or at the Typographic Works WSIPO. At that time, I also devoted plenty of time to playing and reading books. At the age of 18, I worked in the Typographic Works and then, I composed my first blues named Kleks, which I still have in my repertoire and with pleasure do I play it till now.

When I was 25, having the wife and 2 small children, working and widening my education in the secondary school, I decided to start a 2-year long Study for Entertainment Musicians, including the course of education of the secondary musical school (Harmony, History of Music, Musical Rules, etc.) organised by STOMUR (The Association of Entertainment Musicians) in Bydgoszcz
